Let's Celebrate Learning - A Peek into my Daughter's Classroom

I was invited to my daughter's third grade end of the year Celebration of Learning.  It was such a treat for me to see her with her class and meet the wonderful kids and parents.

The program started with three boys giving a speech about how the event was organized and planned.

Each child shared his/her portfolio with parents and visitors.  They explained their testing scores and growth, as well as several year long journals.  I was amazed at how well they spoke and were excited about all the things they did this year.  I think the Snazzy Snacks journal about the cooking days was a favorite of many children.

It was nice to see so many parents able to take time out of the middle of the day and share
this special time with their children.

After sharing portfolios, each child gave a persuasive speech about what they learned and why they should go to fourth grade.

I loved hearing about all the things they did this year and how much they enjoyed being in my daughter's class.

After the speeches, the parents presented Heather with a gift and the refreshment committee served treats.

I wanted to share her bright cheerful classroom.  Leadership is a big part of her school and lessons she teaches.  She also does bucket fillers.

What a great idea!   The kids wrote about their favorite books they read this year.

Look how they have grown!

I am so proud of my daughter.  She is a wonderful teacher and pours her heart into her job.  She loves her students and is so positive and encouraging with each one.

Pirate Day

We had such a fun Pirate Day!

Loved reading some fun stories!

We made Pirate hats and had six pirate centers.  This center was completing the pirate patterns.

Find the number on the flag and record.  Write the number that comes before and after.

Sounding out and writing three letter words.

We just loved going on a treasure hunt for pirate words around the class.

This was a great theme day for the end of the year.
