Kindergarten Musical: How Does Your Garden Grow? Costumes and Practice

We tried our costumes on this week. Everyone is getting more excited for the big play.

We have an incubator in our classroom.  Farm eggs are incubating and hopefully will hatch in 21 days.

Our Kindergarten Musical: How Does Your Garden Grow?
We have learned five songs, a square dance and sign language for
one of the songs.
We started practicing our lines and dances on the stage this week.
I can already see some future actors.  This is Herb the Gardener.

Some wonderful parents have been putting in several hours creating our beautiful backdrop.

The backdrop was assembled in an empty classroom and later put up on the stage for painting details.

Each child painted a HUGE flower head.  We added a stem, leaves with handprints and the roots that are the children's feet.
We also measured each child to see how we have grown this year!

is standing and listening! Yea! We are making progress.

Oh, my camera battery died right in the middle of practice.  Just wanted
to share with you how hard we are working and how excited we are
about our upcoming program.  We will try on costumes next week.
Our classroom is buzzing with excitement.

Tooth Fairy Visits

                         We had a tooth fairy visit our class today!  It was very exciting and fun.

Kelli Duke, from Just For Kids Pediatric Dentistry, was our visiting tooth fairy today.
She started our lesson talking about things we drink that are good and not good for our teeth.

Claire and Logan were the tooth fairy helpers.  They dressed like a tooth.  We saw how the
different foods we eat stick to our teeth.

When we brush, we remove the food and plaque from our teeth. We can get a cavity if we don't
brush away the plaque and sugar bugs.

We did dental health centers.  At this center, we were tallying the teeth.

We put scrambled sentences together at the writing center.

It has been a wonderful spring break!
 I do miss my kids and am looking forward to getting back
and getting on the stage to work on our play, "How Does Your Garden Grow?"
